Having your own website isn’t as unlikely as it might seem. Modern technology and the free market system makes web space available to virtually anyone.
Decide where to get your web space from. If you are a college student or staff member, chances are you already have web space available, as long as you don’t mind having the school’s web address as the first part of yours. Many email providers have similar options available. However, the domain name of your dreams may be available through companies such as DotEasy. The web companies rent the domain name and host the site and its emails, enabling you to create a memorable domain name and maintain a terrific site.
Design your website. This isn’t as impossible as it sounds, thanks to the help of certain computer programs. MS Word will create simple, text-based web pages, and can assist you in creating hyperlinks in the text – no HTML knowledge needed. More complex programs, such as MS Publisher, will create sites with different pages and graphics. It’s as easy as point and click!
